Pat Henry Elementary

Junior League volunteers spread books for kiddos in 2016.

Reading Program

The Junior League is transitioning to Pat Henry Elementary as Washington Elementary is now entirely virtual. Our goal is to provide support for classroom teachers and to reach children who need assistance to master thinking, language and communication skills.  This individualized tutoring and reading is imperative during children’s younger years.  Because Pat Henry Elementary students come from low-socioeconomic, working families, many students aren’t able to obtain one-on-one attention at home.

The Junior League is also a proud sponsor of the Sensory Lab for students in the Autism program and those needing additional support with sensory input.

Holiday Book Drive

The Junior League hosts an holiday book drive to provide each student a book of their own.  Members gift each child one book during a holiday party with crafts and a visit from Santa.

Junior League members Taryn Johnson, Shiann Copeland, Sarah Woods, Jenny Sheperd, and Elizabeth Fabrega pose with Santa after the 2017 Holiday Book Drive donation.
