Reading Program

Junior League volunteers spread books for kiddos in 2016.

Reading Program

The Junior League visits Washington Elementary School to read one-on-one with children who need assistance to master their thinking, language and communication skills.  This individualized tutoring and reading is imperative during children’s younger years.  Because Washington Elementary students come from low-socioeconomic, working families, many students aren’t able to obtain one-on-one attention at home.

Holiday Book Drive

The Junior League hosts an holiday book drive to provide each student a book of their own.  Members gift each child one book during a holiday party with crafts and a visit from Santa.

Junior League members Taryn Johnson, Shiann Copeland, Sarah Woods, Jenny Sheperd, and Elizabeth Fabrega pose with Santa after the 2017 Holiday Book Drive donation.
